Dont you just love horses!
Got down the yard to bring in the boys tonight, walked up the field and shouted them. 3 turn up, forth did not. The field is prob about 10+ acres so shout again only to see a Goli head running up the hedge line - the wrong side! Cue me panicing as this said field is the straw crop and has an opening straight out onto the road!
Run up and crawl through the hedge to catch him then walk the hedge line to find the gap he must of got through, but..... There was no gap but a couple or deep hoof prints in the snow which looks like they come directly from the hedge itself.
End up taking him in and fetching the other 3 in to before again walking the hedge line from both sides. The other 3 are small than him so if there was a gap in the hedge to push through they could of fit to - Goli is 17.2!
So it seems that the bu**er has jumped it. i cant seem to come to any other conclusion!
The hedge is huge! and he is only 3! Also cant seem to find a reason for him to jump as the prints in the snow show that once in the field he hasn't really left the hedge line to try and get back with his freinds and he has never shown any interest in getting out a field before even with only 3ft electric fencing around it!
Pic to show the type of size of the hedges , bay horse is 15hands-
