OK, I have a fantastic 2year old.
He has had more injuries than the local A&E has seen.
Hes fantastic with needles/sedation/twitching/pain...everything EXCEPT taking medication orally.

I need to give him danilon. Its meant to not have a taste but hes having none of it!. Sugar beet, jam, peaches etc etc. Not a chance!.

Tried dissolving it so I could syringe it down his throat but it doesnt work, turns all yucky and would go through the syringe (even with the top cut into a bigger hole)

HHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPP

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get the bloomin stuff down his throat?

Try either apple juice in the feed, a huge glug of it, or grate carrots up and mix them in the feed. Both of these have worked in the past for me - in fact my horse has just finished a 5 day antibiotic course using the apple juice method!

I successfully dissolve it in a syringe (a big 50ml one) although it fills the syringe up, so you have to be quite adept with it .... perhaps you have not waited long enough for the granules to dissolve?

I'm having same problem, my vet says she never heard of any other patients not eating danilon...well my lad having none of it either.

I have discovered Tesco value apple sauce (no lumps) disolve the danilon in it then either syringe (50ml) or add to feed. Mine comes out of the syringe fine but i do stir it all until disolved in the apple sauce....ends up looking like custard

Good luck

Try peppermint cordial in sugar beet i soaked a handful of sugar beet and added the danilon whilst it soaked, then poured in cordial it worked a treat!!

Dissolve in golden syrup or runny honey or molasses? Then syringe or make a sandwich! An old wormer syringe (obviously washed and clean!) might be easier for you if your having problems fitting it in and getting it out of smaller syringes.
