i am facing the possibility of moving my neds and obviously have to give a months notice (fair enough) but i have my OH doing my head in about the whole notice thing.

basically we pay a month in advance, so 1st of the month we pay the livery for that month yet we still have to give a months notice. my OH reckons that because we pay in advance we don't need to give a months notice and my head hurts too much from thinking about it so can't see the reason behind either way!

so is it right that we have to give a months notice even though we pay in advance (by a month)?

sorry if that's confused you all, cuppa tea and a chocolate bar if you understood that! lol

Okay, if you pay on the 1st June that pays for the month of June, if you give notice on the 1st of July the notice month is July and you pay at the start of it and leave at the end of it, so yes, you still have to give a month’s notice.

Yes, a months nontice is still required, if out of common courtesy if nothing else.

In the past, I have given as much notice as I can so as to give the YO chance to fill the stable.

Yes it is right, just the same as if you were in a rental house. You pay in advance and if you want to move or get out of the contract early then you hand in notice a month early. I can't see what your OH finds so confusing about that concept.

well here they give a months notice the recent one gave me a day notice but she still had to pay 1 months notice.

I don't mind if they leave earlier as long as they pay the month, just means i got money for nothing and it gives me time to clear stable out for the next one, also means less work :D

any serious disagreement i reserve the right to terminate the contract immediately.
