You can purchase vegetarian and pet friendly glucosamine tablets very cheaply via the internet (i.e. 360 500mg tablets from www.simplysupplements.co.uk for £6.99)). Has anyone had experience of using these on horses as surely the ingredients are the same but without the label and the astronomical price tag just because there is a horse picture on the label!!
Any thoughts??

Take care. Many products do not contain the levels of active ingredients that is stated on the label or do not consistently contain the stated levels. It's mostly true (sadly) that you get what you pay for.

A 500kg horse has a recommended dose of 10g per day.
There arealso different forms of Glucosamine (hydrochoride and Sulphate) and that could make a difference.

Lastly even if it was a little cheaper and the same you could end having to crush up 10 tablets per feed rather than having it already in a powder form which is easier to mix into a feed.
