Does anyone have any experience of rubber stable mats supplied and glued down by Fairfield Sales at Thatchems Farm, Banbury? Or, supplied and glued down by any one else?

Hello and welcome! Errr, I would never glue down rubber stable mats - they need to be taken-up on a regular basis and the floor thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The mats also need to be cleaned properly on the underside as well as the top!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, obviously, any mats not stuck down will need taking up and everything thoroughly cleaned (most people don't, though, in my experience!). The thing is, I was looking for liquid rubber flooring but, at the time apparently, there was none to be had in the country and Fairfield Sales assured me that mats supplied, fitted, glued down and sealed by them would be thoroughly waterproof and work exactly the same as the liquid floor. Both stable floors are now lose and completely liftable (and wet underneath), one after about three months use and the other having been used for a two weeks)! Not what I paid all that money for!

Yes I do - not from them though and cant remember at the moment who I used as they are no longer in business I believe.
They have worked really great. As they are sealed you do not need to lift them of course and nothing gets underneath.
I've had two stables done and one is still like new after about 8 years now but the other has stretched in the middle and has lifted up, which is causing some problems. Now there is a gap for dirt to fall through and the mat does lift up. I would however use them again.

Just thought, think they were called something like Tylyne.

Yes, I have used glued down rubber mats for many years both at my last property and the current one. They are great, just hose down occasionally and no need to lift as they are sealed to floor, wall and each other so nothing leaks under them.

I find that good drainage is key so that any liquids just drain away and you can chuck a bucket of water down to help it on its way.

Mine were provided by Quattro. They can also provide you with top up tubes of glue if needed and have a brilliant fitting team.

Thanks for all that - very useful. As I said, mine were supplied and fitted by Fairfield and have turned out to be very disappointing as they have not stayed stuck down - and after so little use, so very interesting to hear of other peoples experiences with other companies. I'm sure they'd have been great if they had reained stuck down. I have phoned Fairfield four times and each time have been told "someone will get back to you" but they never do. The latest is that "someone will visit within three weeks", - but I'm not holding my breath !!
