She looks a good bit of everything ride that you should have fun on but only you can put a price on how much you are willing to pay for that ! I'm rubbish at this though anything over 3k for any horse and I gawp :)

I'd say worth about £1,500 - 1,800, but if she ticks all the boxes & you've been looking for a while may be worth paying more....

well you know the drill by now - buyers market, times are hard, going into winter etc etc

I always feel you should be able to get something sane and sensible for 2.5k but I am up north so things could be different but if she is around that make it seems fair - cheaper then better

might add it has been a very long time since I bought a horse but I know the ad pages very well as I am a geek

she looks just like my new one :) same everything but shes rising 5 and no white socks.

i like her, and if shes going to be a safe allrounder they are worth their weight in gold so id say between 2.5k - 3.5k..

Thanks for opinions no tack included. Yes I am paying a premium price for her but I have been slowly looking for some time and I am one of those fussy mares who has to sit on a horse and feel a certain feeling under the saddle and she is the first to give me that. The Gelding in my Avatar had the same feeling.
She is being sold by a dealer I know and trust so she isnt cheap but I have made mistakes in the past and need looking after.

I would pay £3.5k for that. Looks to be well put together (can't see any glaringly bad conformation fron the pics), and if she is safe, sensible, soft and balanced then I would be willing to pay over the £3k mark certainly.

I'll go against the grain as there is no hope in hell that you would get anything like that for under about 5k around here. If she is safe, sane, hacks out in company and alone, bombproof, can pop a course of jumps, is level headed hunting, works sweetly in the school then I think she is what everyone is after and you have to pay a premium. I think she looks nice and if she does tick all those boxes then I would have no worries in paying that amount. How much are they asking?

Similar sort to what my friend bought about 6 months ago, he was advertised for 4500 then 4000 then 3500... She bought him at that price. He was a bit younger/greener but safe as houses.

I think much depends on what else she can do apart from hack. If she is showing promise jumping and starting to work well on the flat, then she should make a lovely PC/RC allrounder and her price will then be significantly higher than an animal that is really only destined to hack.

Thats what I look for, if the horse ticks all my other boxes. She looks like a nice sort and if she is as described, then she'll be the sort of horse who could make ownership fun.
Sane, sound, nice character and a connection between horse and rider that makes you look forward to the next ride. Perfect. Everything else comes with time and imput.
If you can afford the price and aren't buying to sell on, then go for it. A good horse costs the same to keep as a bad one, so its worth investing in the horse that is right for you.

That describes her to a T I am embarassed to say this but I will admit :-

It was issing down when I arrived we had rescheduled twice and she and a gelding were in adjacent stables it was suggested that the Gelding was a lot greener and she would be better for me (Dealer is a good mate) I thought she looked fairly heavy in the stable as the guy next door was finer.
I got on off a beer crate indoors and then tootled off down the lane thinking this is very nice what a shame she is so heavyweight. Rode her in a field played lots ramped her a bit it was by then chucking it down. Rode a bit more until the sun came out then pootled back and took her into another field and popped some small (very small ) xc fences lovely attitude and straight as a die. Jumping needs work she has been jumped round intermediate course at local yard.

Got off asked if I could photograph her and he insisted it must be on grass so she looked good and she stood there and I thought Oh you arent a Heavyweight Cob your a posh Cob. Perhaps I am crazy my OH says so.

In the afternoon Hacked out down the lane with spooky stuff met tractors cars JCB asked a bloke to go Booh and clap his hands.

Ooh, I'm excited for you Flibble :D.

She looks a nice sort and I go with Loch at close to £5k.

If she does all you want safely and sanely, then she is worth every penny imo :).

^^ This especially if she gives a nice feel and is a nice person on the ground!

It sounds as though you feel really happy and safe on her, and you said you needed looking after.. Go for it. Life is too short for quibbling over a few hundred quid! You may find something else for half a grand cheaper that seems the same on paper, but doesn't give you that feeling.. Its worth that to feel happy and safe..x

I would spend no more than £3500 But aim for £2750 sort of mark. She is lovely and if you feel safe on her that is really important. She is still on the younger side of desirable age wise (unless you are looking for a youngster).

I have seen this type advertised for £2500 to £4500. But this time of year she should be towards the cheaper end.

BTW she looks like a bog standard Irish type to me!

I really like her - just think of the shine you are going to get out of that coat - you will be able to see your face in it - She is a cracking mare.

After all what you have said i would go for perhaps £2750 - £3450. The reason for the range is there is no mention of what she is like to box, shoe, clip and catch. BUT you would assume that if she is level headed she would be fairly decent.

Good luck with the vetting and let us know how you get on. xx
