Oh that took me back!
We used to exercise on there most days, even went up the course one day which was brilliant - although we did get shouted at that we mustn't do it again - we didn't, one rollocking was enough!
Used to ride there all the time,as had my mare on full livery near by,she soon got used to flying model aeroplanes and kites coming at her.....used to be able only to go down after midday when the race horses had done their training....remember going down after 12,and got on to the track when a load of flat race horses when flying past, only prob I went with them too!
Managed to stop, and was hanging round my mares neck, one of the jockeys whom was no more than 4ft 4"(complete with a cigarette in his mouth!) helped give me a leg up into the saddle *the embarrassment*,could not believe how strong he was, nearly went up and over the other side.....my mate laughing her head off....glad it amused her!
