well, i have a horse for 2 weeks (well i did - her owner gets back monday) and the day that her owner went away (sunday 25th) and she was mine she lost a shoe

had to wait 4 days for a farrier to come and put a new one on.

anyway, eddie (the horse im lookin after) ripped her fleece rug on monday, and then yesterday broke the clip on her stable rug. but then today, while i was going to get her tack from her tackroom she was tied in the corral and put her leg through the fence (she usually only rests her leg ON it) and as she pulled her leg back though she ripped her shoe off, the same shoe that was put on last week, and we had to pull all the nails from her feet (luckily they werent stuck in her foot they had just not come off with the shoe) but shes ok, i just cannot ride her. and i havent ridden her for 2 days now either and she is stables 24/7 atm, she was being put in the arena for a few hours a day but wasnt today

poor girl

and our arena, which is very boggy, has been reduced to 1-3 inches of sand and rubber in places and both my loan horses have slipped and hurt their back legs and now cannot be ridden. Indie actually fell straight over! whereas rodney just landed on his knees.

its just my bad luck this week (well these two weeks)

i hope my luck changes and we can get the farrier down to put a new shoe on! my mums sending him a pleading text like she did last time, and it worked last time so were trying it again!

Oh goodness, poor you.

I can sympathise - My horse has caused me a lot of trouble over the yrs.....When I first got him, he jumped every single electic fence on the premises, visited every single horse in every single paddock, creating mayhem. Then jumped OFF the premises into agricultural land with a main line train track (and trains) running through it! He had to be moved to an alternate yd prompto. Then he was trying to bite the yard staff in the stable. He's had other disasters over the yrs, but luckily he has settled now and we seem to have got it all right. But I know what it feels like when everything that can keeps going wrong!!
