Prompted by a post below, has anyone got any Hannibal offspring?
If so, what are they like temperament wise and, please feel free to include some pics. I have a two year old gelding who I'm so far very pleased with. He's got a great attitude and seems to take everything in his stride. Does seem to thrive on doing little bits and pieces and is, on the downside, a bit of an attention seeker. What about yours?

I don't have any hannibal offspring anymore but I used to - fabulous, talented horses, I'd have another in a shot.

Actually have a mare in foal to one of his sons for next year - watch this space for details!

Don't want to be wishing my life away but I really can't wait til I can climb aboard. Here's my little guy at Keysoe

Sorry no pics on the computer - they're all old fashoined paper ones!

You're is a lovely boy indeed, in fact I know his breeder and think I know his dam too!

Here is my Hannibal girl Floss:

She is out of an Anglo Arab mare and has just started her BE career with a friend. She is a little ditzy at times, but can jump as easily as she breathes and is always impeccably behaved when she goes to 'parties'. Flo was my first 'proper' horse (she was four when I bought her, and I had just outgrown my 14.2hh), and she went to Hartpury with me, and taught me most of what I know now :) I am a huge wimp when it comes to jumping though, so she is now with a friend and they are having an amazing time together, me watching anxiously at the ringside!

aquamarine, your boy is stunning! I also know his breeder; I bought a mare from her last year :)

Lozzie she's gorgeous - mine has a little white on his forehead like yours. More details please, height, age. She's got such a pretty head!
Which mare did you buy from V?
I saw Victor on here when he was a couple of days old and couldn't resist. Funnily enough, just found out that both he and my 10 year old mare have the same lineage on the dam side! Small world really.

aquamarine, she's just turned 11 and is a dainty 15.3hh. Have just watched her have a jumping lesson - wow! She's got great paces too, and did quite well in the showring as a youngster. I've not seen a Hannibal horse without a lovely head, your boy has a really intelligent expression. Flo can look clever when she wants to, and also knows how to bribe you out of treats :) We are contemplating doing embryo transfer with her next year.
I bought Victoria from V, and she produced an incredible black Stravinsky colt called Alfie in May, who we are hoping to keep :)

A few more piccies of my girl (I can't resist!) :)

Lozzie for the sake of fairness, you should post some pics of Alfie too ;)
Intelligent? Victor? He doesn't always look like that, ha ha. He's usually covered from head to toe in mud, has a very grubby face and, if scratched in the right place on the shoulder, can gurn for Britain! His fave pastime is chasing pheasants/rabbits/cats from the field...

He went to the BEF Futurity on 15th July, behaved like an angel and got a Higher First Premium :)

I think Victor is perhaps hiding his light under a bushel! He might be the next equine mastermind ;)

He's lovely vinnigan. Do you find they pick things up pretty quickly? One thing with Victor is that unlike other horses, if he does something, he does it without warning. Ie he's great for the farrier and will stand like a rock, then he'll try to move without warning (the farrier is small but mighty!) - it's like he's doing it for his own amusement.
Travelling to Keysoe (about 40mins, longest journey) he kicked the back door all the way there. I expected him to be a sweating mess when we arrived but nope, cool as a cucumber, just kicking it for fun. He did it all the way home aswell! Still, you gotta love him ;)
Lozzie, Alfie is stunning. His show name should have been Lugs and Legs! (meant in the nicest possible way) Mummy is pretty special too. Thank god I haven't got a farm, else it'll be full to bursting with beautiful, four-legged animals!!

Vinnigan, Wish we'd had this convo earlier, I would have come and said hello at MK an admired your steed. I went to watch a friend in the same class!

Definetly, he had this stage when he would drop behind your leg and piaffe, i patted him for his new trick :) but now he wont stop doing it. Everyone finds him really funny at competitions. I took him SJ today he stood chilled by the lorry for ages, i got on him and he started rearing, came back after his round cantering on the spot, i jumped off tied him back up and he stood totally chilled again :)
Im at carlton BE this saturday, if your there ;)

Wow thats cool :)
I got him in September after coming off of ponies thinking he was nice and chilled out, and later we found his quirky side :) If he was like he can be to back, i feel sorry for you :D It took a while to get him to trust us but now he is fab. I started eventing him this year and he has been going really well, we are going to carlton BE tommorow, apart from eventing just some BSJA and BD. He jumped double clear on thursday at the pony club areas to come 7th from 150+ But we do love him ;) Competeing makes him happiest and he is always on a high for the next few days :D

Whats was he like to back? he is so quick ic ould imagine him being a pain but he does like to work.
