We are looking at buying a young dressage horse for the OH and came across Godington Stud.

Have you had any experience with them/anyone own a horse by Hannibal/Contis?

We are looking for a scopey baby (3-5 yrs) that may one day take the reins from the OH's current top horse. Must be 16.2hh +.

They are only up the road from us so depending on feedback we may pop up there this weekend if possible.

PM if preferred!

Thanks! :)

We've a Godington mare, by Hannibal. She's gorgeous. Fabulous temperament and hacked quietly, alone, behind or in front, from shortly after backing, ignoring things that were making her nanny jump. She's a little unlevel across the pelvis, we think she may have slipped in her field, but notwithstanding that, her paces are very good. Very trainable mare. She's only about 15.3hh though (although we've not measured her for a while).

I had a Roland part bred (so half brother of Hannibal). Was only 15.3hh on a tall day, but would turn his hoof to most things :)

Give them a call - they're really friendly and will happily talk through their current horses.

Hannibal has a lot more stock on the ground than Contis, so will have more proven out there doing things.
