Just a short little video clip for anyone wondering what the horse riding exerciser looks like. I hope to be losing all the extra lard over the next few weeks /months/years !!
Maybe the nearest thing I get to an actual horse :). I didn't show all the speed modes because of the lady bits wobbling......but it goes fairly fast. Hope you can see it via this link

I don't think its like the mechanical horse but it certainly gives your core a good work out and with a saddle on you can practice your balance better...

Does Rosie move like a real horse does? I tried a mechanical racehorse once and that was pretty damn accurate.

Its just like a horse, if horses were all 3 legged, lame and cantering through thigh high mud  But like Shirl said, it is very good for your core and I find it helps my back :)

Don't know if it's the angle of the camera or not but you look to be sitting to one side?
No offence meant but you don't Rosie to get back problems!

Oh......maybe the saddle is a little squint......must ensure correct position or else I may end up getting bucked off !! You are right pointing that out, first time 'horse' ownership so need help ensuring Rosie is not suffering any discomfort.

Is this one of those i-ride or i-joy exercise machines? I really want one as I think it would be very beneficial to my hip problem.

Its similiar to the I-joy ( sounds more like a sex machine...lol ) Its sometimes called a medicarn /Karl lewis / Bodi - tek and has a bigger seat than the i joy. It may well be beneficial for your pelvis but good for core strengthing.

I've been half looking out for one second hand, never known anyone actually use one before though! really interesting to see your clip. Thanks for the new brand names aswell! I'll keep an eye out.
They do sound very dodgy ;)

Here is another little video........hope you can see the different speeds. Rosie has had a quiet day as i had a riding lesson earlier today, so she never got her exercise until teatime. I adjusted the saddle so hopefully her back will be fine, if not maybe a proper fitting is in order.

You mean you haven't had a fitter out already? Who knows what problems you have caused. Poor Rosie

😅

Oh...........errrrr I am new to this 'horse' ownership. I thought that checking the electric plug was all I should be doing.....Mmm need to buck up my ideas. It's an old GP leather saddle with some of the stitching coming away underneath at those 'padded bits' will that mean I will have to get that sorted too ?. Maybe I could sort that out myself ? I did polish it and it looks very shiny and pretty. What kind of 'fitter' do I need ? would a carpet fitter do ?

..and rather that plugging into the main electric grid, have you considered more natural approaches, such as solar power, wind or hydro power? After all, if you are contributing to the burning of fossil fuels or supporting nuclear power, you really need to think again!

Natural is the ONLY way forward! ;)

While you find a fitter, you could post pics sideways and from front and back. There may be some here more experienced at fitting this breed who can help.

You have had her back checked, haven't you?

I gave up riding earlier this year and within weeks my back and hips started playing up again. I bought a second hand ijoy on ebay and things improved immediately. It seems that the movements of a walking horse or the ijoy are just what my back need. Only use it at lowest speed most of the time.
I had a pony with a fast spin and I could not aways stay with it. Been diagnosed with age related degeneration of the spine so I did not fancy falling off any more, and doing more damage. I do not miss riding now I have the machine, and have two little minis to look after, so still happy. I only have to 'ride' a few times a week for about five to ten minutes to keep the pains away so it has been a very good investment. Joy is ridden barefoot, bittless and only a numnah. Also kept away from grass.

It was so nice meeting Rosie who seems a really well behaved sort. Daisy was so happy she had a companion for a few days but is sad that she has moved to here forever home.

Misty05..I agree with you entirely that these 'machines' do back and hip problems the world of good. My Daisy is doing my back and hips the world of good. it appears that I am riding lop sided so she is helping me straighten up. I had a MRI scan on Wednesday of my back but I suspect its degeneration too.

Solar power........I think not as I live in Scotland and want to ride Rosie more than once a year ! Wind is a possibility......if baked beans were eaten on a daily basis but how to harness that power may be problematic. Hydro power is probably the best bet....plenty of rain here ! but......will Rosie's delicate circuits be damaged with the 'wet' stuff ?
