Going off the other thread about the van horseboxes!

OH has agreed i could do with my own transport. I hate relaying on other people for lifts to shows plus would love to go and do my own thing from time to time and join the local RC. My daughter has her pony now too and would love to take her out and about with the pony club next year

Can anyone recommend a genuine company that sells/converts the mavano/master horse boxes? after reading through the other thread its made me wary about DIY jobs and the fact that the horses backends are close to the drivers head is not even worth considering a shoddy one! so would rather look into a reputable company who makes them strong!
Its to carry a 15.1 LW cob, one person (me) and tack. The other time it would be used is for a 12h pony and my daughter, so am thinking the box should be okay weight wise. I really don't want a trailer!
I am used to driving OHs long base transit 3.5 vehicle so want something similar size that can be driven on a car license.

I used burley horseboxes, not very clear but if you zoom in on my pics in my album you will see the bulkhead behind the cab, Tony at burley removes original bulkhead and replaces with strong custom built metal one, he is not the cheapest but mid range price wise. He also totally seals the floor to stop any urine etc. Very pleased with mine, he insists you visit before ordering, you can either find own van or he will supply.

Safe, strong & a good working vehicle. Not for you if you want glitzy, LW box or high end stuff.
Proper middle of the road safe conveyance
Had mine for a year now & its a great little box for getting out & about.
Doesn't roll, easy to drive & park up. Good for long stretchs on m'ways too :)

Happy to recco, did take mine back for a few adjustments 10 months into owning it & nothing was too much trouble.

Thanks guys.

Have you got the coach built type ones or the van type?
Are the coach built ones the better for safety out the two?

Don't know where you are based but mine came from Three Counties in Shropshire. They build to spec with good workmanship, and excellent customer service.

If you google them they have a very comprehensive website.

I have the van type and really like it. Got it from these guys - http://www.equi-sport.co.uk/ very reasonably priced conversion but does what it needs to. I've only had it a few weeks but my mare has kicked the proverbial out of the bulkhead with no ill effects!

Yes seen these via ebay too...........
