So after whineing about it...and even loosing a little sleep (sad i know) i finally hooked up the trailer and went to weston lawns on my own today.

To be honest, it wasn't so bad!! A little inconvienient at times - like when i couldn't find anyone to give me a leg up, or when i dropped my whip, but generally it was OK. My mare - Fee, is such a good loader that it really was quite easy. Plus i must confess - i had the dog with me to keep me company on the drive!

So, thanks for the advice and words of support! I'm was thinking of not going until i realised there are so many others that do it!!

As for training, she was brilliant. We jumped a 1m and 1.05 and were clear in both. (I fell off last time out because she stopped in the collecting ring, so i was really pleased.)

I suppose the other downside was that i had no one to take pictures for me, so instead, here is a smiling horse and rider back at the yard.

Good for you, now you have done it once there will be no stopping you. As for no one to give you a leg up just climb on from someones lorry ramp, if they are at the lorry ask if not just do it, happens all the time.

Well done, I go by myself all the time, but luckily I have a lorry with steps....

Congrats on the good jumping as well

Well done, both for doing it on your own and for getting two clears. I find my trailer ramp or my water container make great mounting blocks, and I put things like whips etc on my car roof to pick up when Im on!
