=[ After our disastrous round at Solihull, and our problems practising Tuesday, we took his temp, which was 37.8 [above his normal low 37ish]. Finally got his rubber matting down in his stable, and bought him in tonight. His breathing is slightly up, mum got 22, 23 and I think 25?
Mum thinks he may be coming out of something, but I think he's coming down with something. Now we have transport back [!

] will pop him over to the vets. Am going to try and get him out SJ before Winkburn, but I have a funny feeling I might be withdrawing

All my plans for his season have been so screwed up because of some idiot in our village [who actually shares the field with us] drove into the back of our lorry, in JANUARY, so even though I've had a 3 month summer I've hardly gone anywhere. Now Tally's not right, and it just seems like I've wasted a summer that should have been productive. Tally was meant to do the JRN at Knaptoft, but lack of transport and a sticky Burghley knocked that off the agenda, but the plan had always been first Novice at Winkburn, to say he'd gone Novice in a season, because he's quite capable. Peter certainly should have been doing much more - certainly on the BSJA front.
I just feel like everything I worked for last summer and winter has been for nothing

Oh, and one last thing, would you put a fleece / rug on T tonight? I'm stabling, but he's used to 24hr turnout, recently in a L/W rug at night.

Fingers crossed you get to the root of T's problem

really hope its just a passing cold and he'll be right as rain soon

In regards to feeling like you've missed a season i know what you feel like and have every sympathy! it's horses at the end of the day, since having Fiddler put down aged 9 when i had high hopes of taking him JRNing the year he went lame and then Hattie going lame the week before stilemans PN this year and only doing her first event this season 2 weeks ago! ive learnt to make very vague plans with my horses and not to get my hopes up, as often something manages to go wrong to completely ruin them.

Lots of Get well soon vibes being sent T's way

and glad your transport's back on the road

Sorry things havent gone to plan - sometimes life is just like that. Short term planning always best

It's really humid this evening, not supposed to get cold at all, sure he'll be fine

Sorry to hear he's not himself, i'm sure it's just a passing cold or simple virus that will go as quickly as it came. Fingers crossed for when he goes to vets.

In regards to your season, that's horse i'm afraid

. So many downs sometimes you wonder why but one good day makes up for everything!! I've stopped making season plans, things never go as i want so try to take things more long term.

Keep smiling and think of positives, like the lovely ponies you have

Not sure if you got my PM.... but I do know how you feel. For various reasons our season has not gone to plan at all. Just when I hoped I could try and get over the emotional side of XC again.... horse still not right and daughter confused. I just wanted her to have a confidence building run... for both of our sakes. But it's not to be. Its so hard.
But that is horses for you. We had so many plans.. and looked forward to a new future with new opportunities.. but we have to wind things back and start again.
I really hope you find the answer with your lovely grey. Be patient. It will pay off in the long term.
And yes..it is mild tonight. Just brought ours in and decided on no rugs!

Keep your chin up L. He will be fine - you'll see. Don't worry about this season - think of it as 'character building' lol - and start looking forward to next year.

Def no rugs tonight - mine are still out naked.

Mine have all had the herpes virus at some stage this season, and tbh im not 100% convinced theyre over it and i'm having bloods retaken... so there are virus' around at the moment... fingers crossed yours is a short term one and he'll be bouncing around soon
