Well after a long time of thinking about whats best to do I've decided that I'm going to sell my 14hh pony. I've been away for a week and when I fed him in the field today he looked really small compared to my other 2 (stupid comment as the others are 15.3h) however I'm sure the rain has shrunk him since last week!

I'm going to concentrate on my youngster over the summer as he is now ready to be brought on now he has stopped teething. Also I can continue building up my other horse after his suspensory op. This is the plan - if something that I can SJ comes up then I can at least move quickly and have something I can at least compete on. The youngster is currently throwing tantrums / the toys are going out of the pram so he has been put back on the long lines to get me back in the driving seat and get hhim to learn to do as I say.

This is the first time I have ever sold one of my horses so how on earth to I make sure he goes to a good home? Any advise is much appreciated.

i would ask to check out the place the people are going to keep him before signing on the dotted line (thats what izzys old owners did anyway) and if you are going to drop him off i feel that is better then watching him vanish out of the yard. I hope all works out for you

I know exactly how you feel...my little pony who I have had for 15yrs is on full term loan and I am in the same situation where I have got used to her being away and dont know whether I should just sell her on.
I do worry about her and I really also want a good home for her, so will be interested in seeing the responses..
I am gutted but it is the best thing for her as I have two others and I will just not have the time to ride her and she will be stuck getting fat and stroppy in the field.
The last two times I have been to see her she doesnt even know its me and I really am happy to sell her on..
Good luck and I will look out for the responses....
