Hello!

Last year I completed my Silver D of E and now I am wanting to tackle Gold! Are there any centres that have been recommended for me to do D of E and take my own horse?

Thanks

I tried to organise to do this for mine but was turned down by my school (as I was doing it through them) due to 'insurance issues' aka the teacher in charge of it couldn't be bothered with a bit of extra paperwork.

Where in the country are you? I can recommend a potential place but it's West/Mid Wales.

You could do it on Dartmoor, try Lowertown farm for B&B for human and horse. There is a riding school at Princetown too call ed Tor Royal. It is fantastic DofE terrain, back in the 1980's I did my Silver there, but that was on my own two feet!

I did my gold on horseback at a place in the Brecon Beacons
Who help arrange everything including finding a group if you don't have enough people

The place was called cantref riding centre.

Hello,

I did my silver and gold on horseback both at a centre in the Brecon Beacons called Cantref which I would recommend, I really loved my pony and they were really helpful and had accommodation so you can do your prCtice then have a day or so (where we went for a hack loll) then go on to the actual. I believe Freerein also do it. It was a few years back but hopefully they're still offering it :) good luck
