My retreiver is on cod liver oil and cider vinegar.I have been reading up on magnetic boots for my horse and just wondered if anyone used anything like this on a dog for arthritis.I thought they might make a collar.Hes 10 and although he loves a good walk I limit to 15 mins because he struggles getting up in the evening.Hes just started sneaking up onto the settee in my snug room when I go out something hes never done before I think the cold floors are too hard for him.Does anyone have any recommendations for his stiff joints.thanks

My old whippet was very stiff and in the morning she had to be helped out of her bed. I bought Equine America's Cortaflex tablets for dogs. The amazing thing was that within 5 days she was walking around wagging her tail and able to get in and out of her bed without help. She was a much happier dog while she had the tablets.

I have a friend who gives them to her 15 year old whippet dog and it makes a lot of difference to him. They are not the cheapest product, but they definately work. £25 for 60 tablets.

Hiya, my gsd cross is 12 now and over the last 6 months has gradually been getting stiffer so i've bought him a magnetic collar (armadilo bought off ebay) and he's on naf five star superflex dog treats. They're priced about the same as cortaflex and my dog eats them like a biscuit. He is definatley not as stiff now, not that he was bothered to begin with cause he still acts like a puppy! I bought the magnetic collar for less than £18 and i would say it was worth it

The floor will be far too hard now. Invest it a great comfy dog bed (we just had 2 King sized quilts folded into 4 in an old duvet cover) ...Keep weight down, exercise daily little and often to keep joints moving. Keep stair climbing to a minimum and jumping and maybe something like Synoquin or similar.
Best of luck!

Devils Claw Flex from Equus Heatlh is fab, it is the best selling join supplement for horses in our shop, and the second best for dogs (the best seller is Seaflex). The NAF dog products are slow to leave the shelves...
