Pidge was fine this morning

Sunny however is lame

no heat or anything obvious so hoping he just pulled a muscle perhaps when out in field yesterday. now in his box quite happy with Pidge next to him keeping him company

Just got home after doing shopping to find out I've won a bag of TopSpec Leisuretime which I will give to sis as it's what Sunny eats

How has everyone else's day been?

Hope Sunny is feeling top of the shop again soon!

I'm at a lost end really....Patches had her hocks treated yesterday so no riding for three days...actually no turn out either! Not sure how else to fill my time!

sounds like youve had a mixed sort of day, my has been hopeless, went to try a 6yr tb ex racer with aparently loads of potential to event, unspoilt etc.. excellent conformation... got there and honestly wouldnt of guessed it was a Tb, rode him and felt like riding an aged riding school horse, not an unspoilt 6 yr old! arrrgghhh! all i want is a nice little Tb with talent, surely not to hard to find

me too as it in over 2 years sis has owned him he has never been ill! Ok he has a small sarcoid on his bum but that it is it, if it was Pidge it would have been expected as he is accident prone.
How is Patches treatment going? Following how she is getting on with interest but have never had any experience of it.

fortuently was only 10 mins away, but she made him sound perfect, got all excited last night, and then saw him and i know looks arnt everything but i just didnt like him, and then i rode him...

poor thing had absolultly no mouth, i said this to her and she said that with schooling etc... she was sure it would improve, i said i it wasnt greeness it was complete lack of feeling! oh well least wasnt too far away

was going to go and ride one next week that i saw last week, but chaged my mind, the woman was really funny on the phone, and wasnt very impressed with the idea of a vetting, so instincts tell me not to bother going back, other than that not sure really, got to ring my local racing yard again and have a chat see if they have anything, when i wasnt looking it seemed there were loads of horses for sale, now im looking i cant find anything

very odd

congratulations on the win and I hope Sunny is sound again soon.

I am at a loose end today too. Far to slippy to ride as all the snow (we had about 8 inches at yard) has turned to slush and the fields are boggy. Also the school is chockablock

Went up early, turned bert out while i mucked out and did chores but then had to briing him in as he insits on hooliing around and his paddock is still completely snow covered but frozen snow!

have come home and done some house work and am just having a little break.........

mm if she's not keen on a vetting then my alarm bells would start to ring too! sod's law isn't it, I have given up looking at the horses for sale as there seem to be so many nice ones and I don't need one as I have Pidge

After losing Higgs to GS it took nearlly a month to find a good one, admittedly he needed teeth, back etc doing and a serious amount of weight, but the end result has been well worth it. Does it have to be full TB or would a X do?

Too early to say Pidge.

She had the full works yesterday though! Got treated the same as the top competition horses. There's irony for you!

She had the hocks treated directly. This went really well, both needles were in and out quickly at the first attempt (good patches kept still!). She also had Adequan into a vein to lubricate every joint in her body as well as an injection of Hyonate intra muscularly.

She's got to stay in now for three full days, ridden lightly for four and then crack on! Been given Metacam to give to her whilst riding for the first couple of weeks. Vet reckons she'll be feeling very well in a couple of weeks. So well infact that I may need to invest in a neckstrap and sticky bum jods!

Am glad she's a good patient

and fingers (and everything else) crossed for her.
When you have time would you mind sharing some tips on getting her used to being clipped as we have to have Sunny sedated as he positively hates the clippers but ideally would like him to be clipped without having to be sedated. He is too hairy not to have a clip I'm afraid.
