Good diet musing

Currently have my 6yr old wb mare on a diet of healthy tummy, with fibre beet and a couple of big haynets per night and I was wondering what others feed their similar types on.

I'm thinking perhaps she may not be getting all the vits and minerals she needs from this diet, would introducing a balancer be a good idea?

She's a fairly standard wb, is in good condition but will drop if I drop feed / hay amounts. In light - medium work.

I have no idea about the quality/quantity you are feeding but don't forget a balancer only balances to it's self, if the hay you are feeding has ratios that are far from ideal a balancer won't change that ratio.

Long story but after realising my 37 yr old horse wasn't getting enough vits and mins then put him on top spec senior lite balancer, his hair stopped falling out and is regrowing and so is his mane after rug rubs

So......... I would suggest a good broad spectrum vit and min supplement like equivite or a balancer such as topspec

My vet thinks its the protein that has helped with the hair regrowing
