Let's brag about our dogs ... you know you want to.

This morning I dropped Dakota's extending lead while we were out in the woods. Now, usually not a great thing as he's all beagle recall-wise and has the social issues of the former recluse he once was, but even worse when he is in full flight like he was this morning running after something they'd all heard. I was in full flight too, BTW, it's how I make it up to him that he can't go off the lead. So for some reason I lose the lead, it falls clean out of my hand, and he carries on in full fight after the other two. I call him back in a loud panicky tone and what does he do? He stops dead and sits down and looks back at me. I go to put my foot on the lead and exclaim "good boy" as I do which he takes as a sign that he can take off after the other two again - before I've got my foot on the lead well enough to stop him. So off he barrels and I have to cry out his name again in a panicky tone and once more he stops dead and sits down looking at me again, ignoring the fact that the other two are still in full flight. Now, they are the trustees who are off the lead but I'm not sure that even they would stop dead in full flight and sit down and certainly not as quickly as he did. I managed this time to get him back and to reward him we took off again in another run to catch up to the others. I just can't believe what a good boy he was.
He therefore gets my Good Dog of the Day Award and an unlimited supply of belly rubs for the rest of the day. Here he is being cute:
So, who is your Good Dog of the Day? Let's hear why and see those pics ...
