Has anyone been on a good dressage orientated riding holiday? I would love to go on one where I can ride advanced horses and movements I can't do at home (yet!!) with my own horse such as tempi changes, passage etc. I did go to one place in Spain a few years back but it was dreadful as horses were working at elementary at a push and I really want to learn on something that is better schooled than my own horse, so I have a good understanding and feel of the advanced movements.

Thanks!

Thanks kittykate and Scotsmare. I know YRC has a good reputation but I am in Yorkshire and want to go a bit further afield - should have made that clear! I did have a few lessons at Talland when I lived down south which I did enjoy, though there was a little confusion as I ended up with one advanced lesson which was fab but the next lesson was on a very difficult horse just being brough back into work - which is educational but not in the way I wanted. I did feel a bit flattered that they felt i was good enough a rider to put me on it though.

I have found a few holidays on the web that sound good but having been conned before, I really want some personal reccomendations. This one seems quite promiseing: Portugal tho website is obviously aimed at the US market.

Hello! There's a dressage stables near me called the 'Equine Performance Centre' (Hales, Shropshire) which I think do riding holidays. If they don't do actual holidays I know they take horses on holiday livery, so you could have lessons at the same time. I've never been to the place but thought I would mention it to you!

A friend of mine went to Portugal & rode classical dressage horses - she absolutely loved it. I don't know what the place was called but I can find out if you like - PM me if you want more info.

Your obviously very close to me, as EPC is across the fields and woods to my house!

Thanks for all of the comments! EPC looks good - seems a fab place. They don't seem to offer courses on their horses if you aren't bringing your own which is a shame
