I have recently had my renewal from NFU and it is extortionate!!!!! I am looking to ensure an 18 year old competition pony with vets fees and tack. I know that you only find out how good your insurance company is when you have to claim. Fortunately I haven't had to claim yet but would appreciate feedback on who is good and who is bad in your experience so I can ring and get some quotes. £750 is really not an option! And the £750 is with a six year loyalty and no claims discount.

Ours have all been with Equine Insurance Solutions. We've claimed a lot, including for death, and they have always been very good indeed.

I have had three claims from NFU since may last year, one of which is a concurrant one so guess it is really two claims. This has included Chiropractor, and shoeing and i have to say NFU have been brilliant. They are getting on the expensive side so may have to reconsider when the policy is up.

I stuck with NFU last year. I looked around and Petplan was £200 more, SEIB £100 more and KBIS £30 less but wanted a 5 stage vetting. So stayed as they have always been excellent with my claims.

ETA Amstrust was £100 less but wanted a 5 stage vetting too
