My mare has been competing at BE100 but after Hambleden this month she is stepping up to Novice at ALW in May. Have been looking at the BE calendar wondering where to go after that. She is better not competing too often so I am quite choosy. Quite a few options in the SE including BCA, West Wilts, Mattingley etc. coming up. Having walked the novice xc track at Tweseldown in March, ignoring the ground, thought it looked massive and that a few fences wouldn't have been out of place in the intermediate track!

So just wondering where people tend to go for an early novice outing and where you like/don't like so much. Thank you :)

BCA is very soft - and the easiest Novice I have walked :)

Don't know about West Wilts, and Mattingley will be a brand spankers course so hard to comment. I would go with BCA if it fits in with your plans as will be a good confidence boosting course
