Am being ultra organised and planning my first BE towards the end of the season( as he is having 6 months off now). Can anyone recommend a good first timer?
Have been told Munstead is a good one but also have choices of pulborough and Borde hill as they all seem to be running intros.
Thanks

I did my first intro at Munstead last march and have to say it was a really good introduction to eventing for him. I even went xc schooling round the course the month before just so we knew what we were letting ourselves in for! Have done the intro at Borde Hill recently and out of the 2 i would say go for munstead as it probably is a little bit easier xc wise.

As for pulborough, did the PN there and thought that was a good first time PN to do, so intro will also be very inviting

I jumped round the intro course at pulborough for a HT a week after the BE in october, thought it was really nice, very simple.
Dont know about munstead, but we're going to the first one (providing no-one goes lame!)
Borde hill PN looked nice last year but didnt pay much attention to the intro tbh x

have schooled round pulborough, love it there and have hunter trialled round BH but am worried if I leave it for that one it will be raine off like last year
maybe munstead then
thanks guys

Munstead was my 2nd BE (i did the autumn one) and its lovely - quite low key for a BE event and very inviting and friendly courses

From my experience its a good first timer event

Borde Hill (rode around it for the pony club novice horse trials last year

) Also Pulborough has a really inviting intro, rode it last year and this year and at all the pc and rc events there

and firle is good, much kinder this year than last year- i rode it last year as my first ever BE event and it was meaty!!!, certainly more of a first timer course this year
