Does anyone know of a young adult GSD in the Herts/Beds/Bucks/Northants looking for a home or at a rescue centre? Bitch or dog.

5 years after losing our beloved GSD my husband now feels he is ready for another. We have owned two rescue GSDs is the past.

We found a 3yr old GSD dog at a local rescue centre and although they approved us as a home they have discovered the dog has hip problems at 3 years old. My husband can't bear the thought of more heart ache and doesn't want to take on a dog with problems.

Alternatively we will look at dog puppies but they must be the straight backed type if anyone knows of any.

Agree Biggsd have good coverage and an informative forum. If you end up being dead set on a puppy PM me with a few more likes and dislikes, what kind of a home you can offer in terms of activity level etc etc etc and I will try to recommend a good breeder.

there are quite a few on dogsblog.com , they are from different rescues and the dogsblog pages are sometimes not kept up to date so you would need to contact the rescue direct to make sure the dog was actually available... good luck with your search

Thanks for those suggestions. I will definitely have a look and pass details onto my husband.

It has taken over 5 years to cope with the idea of another dog after losing Max a few days after his Mum's funeral. Now he has decided he wants another dog he wants it yesterday! He has spent this afternoon checking the garden fencing so hopefully we will find something soon.
