Spike is going to Willerlseys for his Kissing Spine operation tomorrow. He will have his pre op assessment tomorrow then have the op on wednesday if all goes well.

We have been waiting for this day for ages but we are now getting quite nervous.

He is only 5 and has had very little done with him in his life. He has obviously been in pain for a lot of it making him not the easiest of horses but this being put down to naught horse syndrome!!!

He is a funny little thing that is nervous of anone and anything unless approached very carefully and slowly with everything. It takes him a lot to trust anyone but responds well once that trust is there. I just wish I could stay with him while he is there but its just so far away.

I just hope he is not missunderstood.

Here he is our gorgeous little man:-

Good Luck Spike xxxxx

Oh massive good luck vibes from me!
Spike is gorgeous (look at those eyes) and I’m sure after the op, will be able to have a very full and fun life.

Oh Halfpass, I didn't realise this on Saturday night, otherwise I would have told you all about Norman's KS operation back in April '06. Good luck, I'm sure all will be fine

Yep, he had it at Liphook. Was fine but I think the long box rest had a bit of an effect on him making him a bit grumpy over the door, but maybe thats just him!

He has a slight dip in his back where the op was but you can barely see it. He bucked still in the school when I first got back on, but I think that was the memory more than anything. Since then he's just got better and better, much more so as he's fitter and muscles getting stronger

Best of luck, my fingers are tightly crossed that everything goes ok.

I've decided not to go for the op with my boy but his field pal had the op 3 months ago and is looking fab

Keep us updated with how he's getting on xx

Yes Svend is doing it. I have chatted to Willersleys and they seem great. He had a nice (ish) day out in the field today and has just had a nice brush ready for his long trip tomorrow. I just hope he loads ok as we really are pushed for time
