He's going to a loving new home!! The little scrap that landed on my doorstep on the end of a piece of baling twine last Saturday is now a sought after little pooch! A couple of friends, who initially showed interest in him, fell by the wayside, but my very good friend Annie (who's brilliant at homing anything unwanted - even rescued a donkey foal from the "salami factory" in Holland!) said she'd have him if all else failed but one of her four dogs is a collie x something else pup and not only is it deaf but it "shadow jumps" and is seeing an animal behaviourist, so she really has got her hands full! Anyway, took him to have his eye checked (all fine) and one of the nurses said she thought he was gorgeous and would love to have him if I didn't have another home lined up, so she's going to be his new owner!

At least the week I've spent with him has made me realise that I'm not a small dog person! I feel so STRANGE with a tiny dog on the end of the lead - it's just not right somehow!!!

Jake's a cheeky little chap now and full of beans. He's madly in love with my Springer (or is she a Sprocker??? Love to know what you think!), Molly, and just won't stop shagging her (she's NOT in season!!). Takes no notice of the other three bitches! Molly just walks around with a fed up expression on her face as he hops along behind her on two legs!

AND....believe it or not......the guy who dumped him on me not only called round to my house yesterday (I was out) but also chatted to my daughter in the pub where she works a couple of times a week!! The cheek of the man!

That's great that he's going to have a home with the veterinary nurse, you know he will be well cared for after his desperate start. All credit to you for what you have done.

So pleased he's found a fab home. That eye looks revolting though! In the earlier pics was that brown scabby thing his actual eye then as it looks like he's had it removed.

I do hope that bloke hasn't heard that you've fixed his dog up and decided he wants him back

Yes, the scabby thing in the earlier pics was his eye which had since been removed! It also had bits of hay and dust stuck to it! The guy who dumped him knows the eye has been removed (vet is being very good about cost and so far there are four of us contributing!) but what I totally forget to add in my post was that when he went into the pub where my daughter works, he got chatting to a local farmer and has bought a second hand 4x4 off of him for £15,000!!! He just can't be bothered to take the dog anywhere - it's not the cost!!

Really pleased for him and well done you.

Are you sure he's got Chi in him? Looks all JR to me

I stick with with what Brad Pitt says in Snatch "I f****** hate pikeys!!"

Seriously though, what a b@stard to treat an animal that way.

Oh well done! Its so good that the lil guy is going to have a good home. The cheek of that farmer.. are you going to get him reported? Your vet sounds very understanding too

wish mine was like that for all our callouts!

Yes, one of the veterinary nurses can't wait to have him! I'm not a terrier lover, but I have to admit that this little chap is full of character and he is seriouly SWEET!!! He's just so cute and thinks he's a BIG dog when actually he only comes about three quarters of the way up our Munsterlander's leg!!!! Anyway, wishing him all the very best in his new home - he deserves it!!!

Glad he is on the mend....it's so hard to keep your gob shut in these situations

...but needs must..esp..for the sake of the animal...Thank the lord for people like you
