I posted before about my horse that had a cyst/bone changes on his navicular bone, it had been there for some time but when the horse went lame at the beginning of spring after a fantastic year of lovely hacks, the vet said it was most likely the cyst that was causing it and the prognosis was hopeless. I also noticed a thumping pulse and growth ring/ridge which the vet did not pick up or mention. Anyway I have controlled his diet more and left him to heal in the field. I finally made the decision to start walking him out (6mths later)and at the weekend trotted him in the field and he is now sound, cant believe it, I am just worried to do too much in case it aggravates whatever the problem was in the first place but I am putting it down to LGL and its taken this long to grow an almost new hoof capsule. It could be the cyst and with increased work get worse but I am stating positive because this is a result! Just though I would share, its been a roller coaster and hard work keeping him safe but that little trot was so worth it.
