Do lami had his X-ray check up today and had fasting bloods done earlier in the week, blood have come back great and can start dropping the methionine......X-rays look bloody amazing :D since pony really shouldn't be alive with 13 + degree rotations in both front tootsies.

But then the bad news.....old mare loosened a shoe on sat so arranged for farrier to come out and redo Monday, Monday morning old mare had taken it off. Farrier put it back on and noticed a little bit of swelling round fetlock. We thought just bruising and she was found and happy to go out....came in sound this morning than went to turn her out to night, fetlock a little swollen again but had been in all day, got a quarter of the way to field and old mare planted which is very unlike her as she is usaully the first to the field. Mum got me to check her over and has a fluid like swelling just below the start it the top of the tendon on her inside right fore and its burning hot so cold hose, dry leg put cooling gel and bandge both fronts tonight and gave done danilon and will ring vet in the morning. .

Really hope she hasn't done anything major as the last time she had to spend time on box rest for three months she coliced every few weeks.

Oh well have to take the good with the bad.......

Thanks, she was better this morning. Still a little swollen and she was short on that leg but the heat had gone. Turnt her out and she was happy grazing walking about when I left so looks like thankfully just a sprain.

Agree with Tnavas, my old boy came in with a swollen leg, was pretty nasty and when the vet came he thought he had shot his tendons to pieces...he said with a lot of leg swelling it ends up being in their foot, my poor boy wouldn't weigt bare and anyone would have put money on it being his foot. It turned out to be.....an absess, some antibiotics and a week of tubbing and hey presto all better and has been since. Worth keeping in mind :-)

She is completely sound now, just bandaged for the past two nights and she trotted out to the feild this morning and heat has gone and the lump has just about gone......

Thank you and I'm gratefull it's cleared up:D I've had her for 12 years, she was my first horse, so I worry a little bit more about her.
