good ole government, backing down again!

It's a non-story! From the time results came in for the election - and the coalition government was formed - it was clear that there were NOT the numbers to win a free vote! What on EARTH would be the point of pushing for a vote - and losing it?? ALL that would result would be considerable bad PR - both for hunting and for the Government!

We have a COALITION Government - NOT a Conservative Government! It was the Conservatives who pledged a free vote if they won power - they didn't quite manage it!

The Conservatives WILL honour their pledge - as soon as they can!

Is there any need for the excessive capitals? I'm not stupid and I'm quite capable of reading a post and picking out the key parts!

I merely posted the story for other people to see, I thought it might have been of interest!!

I was also interested in other peoples take on the matter, a simple explanation would have sufficed!

Pardon me - I use capitals for emphasis - so shoot me! You might be capable of picking out the key parts - although not so capable of recognising a non-story - in a rubbish paper - which means nothing! And interpreting it as the Government "backing down again!"

It may be a non story in a rubbish paper but we all know how many people read said rubbish paper and take it as truth! So it does actually stand for something. There is an article in my local paper today about a fox ripping off a ladies cat flap to eat her cat!! It's a very amusing article but I'm sure we can both agree rather unlikely? how many people will read it as true though?

Heaven forbid I chose to over look the fact we are a coalition governement, politics means nothing to me, I've never claimed it does, I just read the articles with a bit of interst to me while bored at work! And you can't deny the governement is quite good at backing down, hence the assumption!

I don't disagree with anything you've said, I've merely taken offence at how you chose to say it!

You muswt try not to be offended QUITE so easily. It's stressful - and stress is bad for you! :D

The 'Government' actually isn't backing down on anything - because it didn't promise anything before the election - it didn't exist before the election. It's quite handy really!

Obviously the Lib Dems made promises (and never thought they'd be in a position to keep them) and the Tories made promises - which they might have meant to deliver on if they could. But a coalition means everything has to be renegotiated - and gives everyone a chance to back down - or U-turn - or just do *******-all!

I can't help it, I'm a delicate little flower, haha!

Personally I think it's all rubbish, IF I ruled the world........!!! Now there's an idea, a very scary idea!!!!

We could hunt everyday, print more money and never have to work!! if only...!
