Good on the BHS

If the following is correct, and I've no reason to think it's not..... what do you all think? It does seem to almost contradict the above.



"A few days ago the German Horse Law Day - a conference for lawyers specialized in horse law - had the topic of euthanasia and animal wellfare law in Germany. One argument made was that putting a horse to sleep because costs of treatment too high/owner not able to afford treatment/owner no longer able to afford keeping the horse would in some cases - especially owner no longer able to afford the horse - constitute violation of animal wellfare law. And in case of unusual high treatment costs case-to-case evaluation should be made."....... from another forum.

I do hope you are right about the apples and oranges. It sounds as if the decision might not be in the owners hands at all, but the costs of treatment might be...... a can of worms.
