I've just been reading the hunting report in this weeks H&H, and some of the posts on here. It seems that some country is much more 'jumping' country than other areas. I am going to take all the advice on summer rides / cubbing etc and work up to hunting next year - providing that my mare proves manageable - but I was wondering: for a rider who's not all that keen on jumping big obstacles (ie, me), which packs are the best to go out with?
My mare adores jumping and will jump pretty much anything, so I'm keen to avoid the sort of scenario in which the hunt jumps a 6' hedge and she gleefully follows them over whilst I cling on, sobbing! Or do all hunts have non-jumping options?
I'm based in Sussex so I think my local packs are the Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent, and the Southdown and Eridge.
Sorry if this sort of thing has been covered a lot before.
