Hi there, subject to our new horse passing his vetting on Monday (fingers and toes tightly crossed but should be absolutely fine), my friend and I are bringing a new horse to our yard on Friday next week. In the period between we need to get kitted out with all basic equipment (buckets/feed bowls/haynets, rugs etc) which we will add to as time goes by.

We are based in Bristol/Malmesbury way - can anyone recommend a good place for us to go where we can get this sort of stuff but where it's not over priced as it's going to cost enough as it is!! I have Pinkers close by here but seems to me things cost a bit more. Someone has mentioned Wadswick but have to keep a tight hold on our purses! Countrywide is another one but it is being taken over by Mole Valley and the stock is apparently rather limited. Can anyone think of somewhere please? Happy to travel to 1 place that will stock what we need rather than lots of little journeys!

Thank you.

If it’s a one stop shop with a good range then Wadswick is what you want. Not the cheapest but got the biggest stock.

For little bits and pieces you can try Tetbury Wynstay, Malmesbury Ashley’s Feeds, Henry Cole near Kemble
