Home for the weekend, so got the 6yr old project out, sister is riding as much as possible, but thats not a lot, 1/2 a week. He's looking fabulous, but feeling it too! They haven't had proper turnout for a week, and he's being fed new feed, so he was on his toes! Lunged him first, and he actually cantered..this may seem strange but normally on the lunge he is dead as a dodo, so decided to lunge jump him a bit because he ws throwing teenage strops for the first time ever, once he realised that he couldn't just duck the other way (took the top of my finger off first mind with the lunge rope) he tootle round quite happily, over a 1.10 spread which is the biggest he's jumped, well can he jump! He hasn't learnt to snap up yet, but his bascule is fab and he just looks like one of those youngsters in the loose jumping? (he cant be loose jumped as he jumps out).
So once we;d done that, got on and he was very good, forward, making a reasonable shape, and he cantered, I was amazed, maybe its because I've been riding a less forward horse, but he cantered in a balanced fashion, and we jumped up to sort of 85cm in a sensible manner, he has learnt how to lift his legs, yay!
Sorry, self indulgent but if he goes as well tomorrow I am hoping he will be sold as we have an unexpected viewer.
Pics to come later.
