We are considering putting up an indoor arena at my livery yard - just wondering if anyone has any surface recommendations please. Need something that will take quite a bit of work. won't need endless watering and won't break to bank - oh and I jump so it's got to be a good surface to jump on too I know that I may be asking the impossible :) but would love to hear from anyone who's really pleased with their surface and what it is - plus points and minus would be helpful - Thanks

might be a bit much pricewise (i only rode on it when i was at a riding school so i have no idea about prices) but the best surface ive ever ridden on is flexi ride, we had it on 2 outdoors and one indoor and we rode straight after the pouring rain, it feels like your riding on sponge and my friends horse thinks he is valegro whenever he is on it! dont know about it in the frost etc but i think it would be okay

i wouldnt recommend sands with thin strips of tyre as i just dont like that one, my friends horse keeps getting his hoof stuck on the tyre pieces

Thanks 131 defo not going for the strips of rubber - as although maintenance is low don't think there is enough give for the feet when jumping. Outside I have silica with big felt like strips which is a good surface but needs harrowing quite often. Will look into flexiride.
