Sorry for this possbly long post, basically I've come to the hard decision to sell one of my horses (I own 2) this is mainly due to lack of time and finances, I'm getting more and more in debt, not really getting the enjoyment out of it and having to work at a job I HATE which pays S**t money.
My head is buzzing with ideas but I'm hoping to be rid of my various debts with the money made from selling my horse, i've been offered a part time evening job and there are also lots of part time jobs about so I could have a guarenteed income, but I'm thinking maybe I could offer a kind of full livery but at a diy yard, as in I would charge to turnout, muck out, poo pick, lunge, ride etc does anyone do this and is it worthwhile, my thinking is that with extra time i could have more time for my horse but an evening job wont bring in enough money so need a bit more, as I would like to do an open university degree and do what I've always wanted to.
On the other hand I'm toying with the idea of putting my mare out on loan either as a broodmare (she is well bred, put together etc) or just as a ridden loan and go back to uni. As part of me thinks that I would quite like to have a break from owning horses as I'd like to travel etc as I'm only 23 and so havent got any other commitments
OR
Maybe as well as doing the turnout etc to buy a cheap horse bring it on and sell it in partnership with my friend (thus cutting down costs etc) we both have experiance in this but I'm a little concerned in the current financial climate in order to make a bit of money and maybe have something a bit more rideable for a short time (my mare is a bit of a pain in the bum, she is lovely but highly strung and just generally difficult and I quite like the idea of being able to get on something and go for a hack or pop over a jump without it being a big drama)
Sorry but Im just a bit confused, thanks for your help!
