Good weekend, concerned about Pidge and getting excited.....

Just got back from the Cotswolds where Pidge and Sunny are on hols. Took them down on Friday, 2hrs in box, M6, M42 and M40 and not a peep out of them all the way down

went for a hack Saturday and then did some jumping in the school. Went to go to Derby House and spent a good hour following the Warwickshire hunt before getting there

so exciting I have decided I have definately got to take Pidge hunting.

than schooled this morning and left the horses with friend at her yard at dinner time. Am off to Oz on Tuesday for 3 weeks so am excited about that

However Pidge is eating all of his tea but not even half of his breakfast so am understandably a tad concerned about this

He is normally a hoover and licks his bowl clean. Could he just be taking a while to settle in?

Is there lots going on in the morning to distract him. perhaps wanting to go out ASAP

Yes, there are 5 large boxes, he's in the 2nd one and 4 boxes opposite in a barn. Sunny is in the box opposite so they can see each other all the time. It is american style so just bars on top so he can see the horses either side of him which in our place is all enclosed. Pretty busy in the morning with them being fed at the same time and then the girls start mucking out, more relaxed at night time. Just worried that if he's not eating his breakfast he could be stressed and will end up losing weight!

I wouldn't worry too much if he's eating his dinner & getting hay/haylage - my lad (an ex-racer) has stopped eating breakfast now that he's in over night as he's just too keen to go out... I've found cutting down his feed to a big handful of hifi and some pony nuts (he has a scoop of hifi, 1/2scoop alfa a & 1/2 scoop of pony nuts usually) doesn't seem to over face him and he will often finish it and look for more

. I'm sure he settle into a routine and be hoovering it up again by the time you come back!
