Hey, am looking for a good pair of Yard boots. Like country boots? Dubarry/Toggi/Justtoggs/Hunter. Any brand really, theres so many out there and am a bit boggled as to the best ones to go for :) I need a really good waterproof pair for working in a busy yard for the summer, so a minimum of 3months constant wear. Dont need to be suitable for riding in as have jodhpur boots and chaps

Cant stress the waterproof-ness and durability enough!

Thanks a mil :)

Be careful if you intend to muck out in them since many manufacturers will not guarantee them against damage caused by horse urine. You can get chemical proof ones from most agricultural merchants. Not perhaps the most glamorous but will last you longer and some of them come with steel toe caps

Oh really good point thanks a mil!!

NOT HUNTER!!!! They're now made in China and are c**p. If you want true Hunter's, the people that used to make them are now called Century Wellies and are still based in Scotland and produce high quality boots - not the cheap Chinese tat that are now Hunter.

Anyway, I have Muck Boots Artic Adventure (tall welly height). They're fab, waterproof, so warm (only one pair of socks needed!) fit like a glove and easy to ride in. They come in loads of funky colours - I have the purple and black ones. :D

Yeah unforch I heard that about hunter! such a shame cause I loved their wellies. I'll have a look at the Muck boots, definitely need a tall pair. Thanks!

Another vote for Muck Boot Arctic Adventure! Keep feet warm and dry, nice chunky boot but easy to ride in and really comfy for yard duties! Only negative ive found with this boot is i find them a bit slippy on wet surfaces x

Muck boots are very good except the heels tend to split after a while. But they are very warm and comfortable. I just hate having to throw them out after a couple of years - they still look new except for the flaming splits in the back! Sort it out please Muck boot people.

I have leather rigger boots, with super thick soles, sheepskin lined, and steel toed, with a toggle at the top to pull the top closed to stop water splashing over your boots - most comfortable and cosy things ever to wear to muck out etc in, had them a year and they've never leaked or had any problems. Only £45 quid as well. Had so many people comment on them.

These:

ETA: I mainly got them as was working with horses, and found boots degraded quickly. These are oil/acid/alkali resistant for use on rigs, so don't deteriorate.

Another Muck Boots fan. I have 2 pairs - one heavy duty pair with steel toes and achilles support (Tays maybe?) They're green. I've had these for 2 years and they're still going strong after heavy use.

I also have a lovely new pair of Colt Ryders which are a new model made for riding. I love them.

Both pairs are super warm and comfortable and totally waterproof :-)
