I met Lyn Holland some years ago as a result of a conversation with my farrier who told me of her. She had had a bad accident on the roads in which her horse was killed and she was seriously injured. She would no longer ride on the roads when I met her. I used to ride out with her and helped her get her confidence back to ride on the roads again. We did a lot of pleasure rides together and then she went on to do Endurance Riding with her much loved horse Hash that she got up to Gold Series grade. She kept her horses with me for a few years and when my horse fractured a bone in her hock Lyn kindly gave me her cob that I still have to this very day. She is still regularly ridden so I still have a very nice living memory of Lyn.

Pleasure and Endurance ride organisers always looked forward to getting an entry from Lyn as they knew that the day would be fun. Maps where a mystery to her but somehow or other she always got round on her beloved Hash depite being prone to becoming lost because she would chatter non-stop and never stop to look at the map - which Lyn could never make head nor tail of anyway! Lyn was such fun, bubbly and always smiling - if she was at a ride you knew everyone's spirit would be lifted. always smiling People where always impressed by her imaculate colour co-ordiated turnout down to matching nail varnish.

Lyn was a brave and first class rider and it is so sad that she became ill and died at such a young age. She had just celebrated her 50th birthday.

We miss you Lyn.
