I want to buy a gooseneck trailer. who has one, where can I go to see one? I want to know about licences and insurance, especially MOT position.
Any genuine information will be gratefully received.
I have spoken to my MOT horsebox station but they are most unhelpful!
thanks

I think there's a reason we don't have them over here .
I mean a legal one I have a feeling they are not road legal over here .

Do you mean just for horse transport? I've seen caravan type things quite often on the road so are they not legal? I also knew a chap who had one that he used for motorbike meetings etc. Maybe the law has changed now?

Perhaps I just remember having a talk about them with someone who does western riding having seen lots at a show in the us .

I think they are available - at a price, there was a firm importing them. It wouldn't be a big enough market in the UK as pick-ups are not so common.

I had one and it was lovely but not practical for the majority of my trailering needs (travelling mares and foals) so I sold it and just kept my 2 box stall trailer. Gooseneck/fifth wheel trailers are very common over here and they are superb for towing, reversing etc. I know nothing about the regulations of them in the UK though.
