Tia's first novice and mine for well over a year, and it couldnt of gone much better! She was a total superstar
Drove over on saturday evening after work to walk the course- and to say i had butterflys by the end of it was an understatment!! Novice sure is tougher than i remember, with a massive leaf-pit esque drop (or so i thought!) at 5, a dodgey box thing with various different approaches to choose from at 8 and a double of corners towards the end of the course there were more than enough questions to keep me up that night!!
Seet off from yard around half 5ish to arive with plenty of time for 9am dressage. She floated around doing her thing, showed a bit of tightness in the left canter but on the whole was as fantastic as ever- scored 31.4.
Onto the showjumping, roled 2 poles, middle part of the trebble and the last fence. Cant really complain too much as she doesnt showjump from one event to the next (due to being based on a dressage yard with severe lack of poles still....) so sometimes looses her teqhnique when she gets too excited!
Then onto the xc....And i neednt have worried really, she knew exactly what to do! the Box thing was a little dodgey, got a good line and she was going, but didnt quite the right canter so was on a bit of a half stride but she picked up some how! flew around the rest of the course and got just 8 time
Finished in 10th and now have one very special shiney BE point!
couldnt be more plesed with how she went and have entered berkshire college and tehn probably finish on twesledown, all being well!
