At least my parents didn't care. Dad said "keep it disinfected" (and he is SO anti tattoo) and mum tutted and talked about the bad tattoos she saw on her travels lol

I got one on my collar bone but not drunk, is says 'The air of heaven is that which flows between a horses ears', i must say i dont like it anymore and even contemplating it getting it lasered off now! Only got it a year and half ago!!

I hope there's an apostrophe? horse's

That should be fairly simple to get laser removal on, I was all set to get my tattoo removed then I found out I was pregnant so couldn't go ahead with it. So frustrating as the test patches have faded really well.

Alternatively, a good tattoo artist will be able to fix/improve it if OP wishes.

Disagree about the health hazards of tattoos abroad. I feel these guys all get painted in the same picture. I had 2 x Of my tats done in Tenerife by a guy who does tattoo conventions all over, and they never went bad,and get compliments all the time :)

Aah it's not so bad !! And don't tell people they don't hurt LOL !! They do, believe me !! I guess it depends on what you're getting. I got a half sleeve done two weeks ago in one five hour sit - the most painful experience of my life haha !! IMO it's worth it for beautiful, permanent artwork tho !! And I also agree, don't knock oversees tattoo artists. They shouldn't all be judged so harshly. Yours looks fine in terms of healing OP, it's redness and swelling you have to watch out for. Be prepared for the scabbing and itching though - whatever you do, don't scratch it or it'll look 10 times worse than you think it looks now !!

Its small enough to cover easily enough :) my cover up of my teenage rebellion turned into a 90 hour full back piece that then accidentally spread to a half sleeve too.... let it heal, give it a month then find a reputable tattooist to fix it :)
