Well as the title says I got into Shipton Moyne, really pleased as want another novice run to make up for my rubbish riding at stonar!

Stonar report

Early start to bath and plait the coloured mud monster ready for our first Novice. lunged him for 10 mins (takes pressure off my bad shoulder) then rode him for 30, he then went a did a lovely test (esp considering so close to XC) and scored 26!

SJ - always been his week phase but i burried him at planks so also messed related distance so 8 faults

XC - he flew round didnt even look at the ones i was worried about and the narrows on a 4 stride related distance he did in 3! his only weak point is jumping into water so jumped element a sat up and rode him to element b (long off step into water) he didnt back off at all and flew in far too quickly meaning we completly missed element c! Silly me! but we got round and he kept me safe.

I was worried we would be out of our league but we were 3rd after dressage and would have been 6th if i have ridden the water properly! so looking forward to Shipton Moyne!

Anyone else going to Shipton Moyne? I have dressage on monday and sj/xc on tuesday

Well done, saw your dr score up and thought you'd be thrilled!!
Shame about the water but plenty seemed to glance off there and if he gave you a nice ride round the rest then thats fab

Oh, Moon did the arrows in 3 too- a little too much positive riding me thinks

thats a great result!
it's always more reassuring mentally if it was your mistake rather than your horse's because you know that you horse is totally capable!

great dressage too!

& SpottedCat - i'm rather annoyed about nutwell too!
i was entered for marchington last weekend aswell & then that got cancelled

And I was on the sunday of Salperton, so missed last weekend as well. Normally now I would be worrying the ground was too hard not praying ti would stop raining!

Yes I was thrilled and a bit surprised as he felt a little more tense than i would have liked!

Yes Positive riding, good to know that the horses are confident tho!

Thanks

Thats such a shame, I did think about you and your eventing schedule when the events started cancelling, When are you planning to go Novice now?

Thank you.

Yes thats why I was both pleased and annoyed with the day, pleased with frankie and annoyed with me! But it is good to know he is capable, I was worried we would be way off the mark in the dressage!

Hopefully you will get a run soon!

I doubt I will go anywhere until September now. I just cannot guarantee the ground in July and August, and in a way it is no bad thing as it gives me a few more weeks to improve the dressage and make the SJ really solid.

So many events near us in July and Aug are mid-week too and it is impossibly busy at work in the summer so difficult to get time off. Such is life, I'm not selling him, so it's not like I need to go Novice asap or anything.

Ah well at least if you are in no hurry it shouldnt be too bad and like you say you can practice your show jumping and dressage, I def need to practice my SJ, Got shipton Moyne on tuesday, Then stockland lovell the week after then Cheltenham the week after then not doing anything until september either.

Frankie had a really bad allergic reation on tuesday and it still hasnt settled now so got vet coming again tonight. Its not very nice for him being itchy and feel bad competing him but Vet says the more exercise the better as it will help remove the toxins from his system. He has made himself bleed on his back leg now, feel so sorry for him, took him out and did some canter work today then cold hosed his itchy bits so hopefully after vet comes again tonight he will feel better for Shipton Moyne.
