ok so following my earlier post asking you guys to help me on what i should feed my horse i have decided and have bought today the following...speedibeet, alpha-a (getting alpha-a oil when first bag is finished) and cool mix.

how much do you reckon i should be feeding of each?

bearing in mind that he has dropped a lot of weight...has no condition...can get quite fizzy on too much cool mix and YO is a bit stingy with haylage. i try to ride him every day when i can, hes a 5yo and hasnt done much!

any help would be great!!

thankoooo...

another thing....see when i get my alpha-a oil can i still feed this along with the speedibeet..would they do exactly the same thing as eachother or would they contradict each other? would i be wasting my money if they both did the same thing?

is there any point in me feeding the cool mix? i suppose if he goes back to his apooky antics i can just take the cool mix out of his diet maybe? what do you think?

Sorry i havent read the original post but could you not replace the cool mix with a conditioning mix?
I'm currently feeding a looney TB alfa-a oil, build-up mix and top spec super condition flakes, as well as sugar beet and haylage and shes just starting to put weight on

(shes only been on the conditioning flakes a few weeks, and was losing weght beforehand. the conditioning flakes are meant to keep the horse calm whilst improving condition.
Allen and page do calm and condition which we used last year.
Good luck x

Personally,I'd drop the cool mix and get some good old grass nuts. They'll help him gain weight/condition and increase his fibre intake, which I'd always prefer as a method of adding condition over using mixes

thanks guys...

well see i dont really have a store nearby that does topspec or grass nuts so i really have to do with what my local store has to offer...which is really only spillers...they have conditioning cubes but not the mix...i could order the mix in but iv already opened the bag of cool mix so im gonna hav 2 use that first.

are conditiong cubes/mixes not meant to be very heating?
