Well bit the bullet today, as have been pussy footing around backing my 3 year old with a week. Lunged him, drove him in long reins, and said it's time. Oh, silly me!!! I lay across him, and he was ok, a bit funny but alright!! Did that a few times and swung my leg over. He was fine, until i asked him to go forward. I wouldnt have minded too much if he'd bucked but he went straight into the air. First fall in 14 years. Ouch!!! Straight over his ass. As much as I love him, I dont like him tonight, really feeling the effects. Got back on and he walked for about 5 mins, left it at that for today. Oh, happy days!!!!!!!!!!

Awwww hope it wasnt too hard a landing. Well done for getting back on and leaving on a good note with him. :D I am still putting off getting on mine. Have leant over but she basically told me that was enough for now. Shes so nervous bless her. Just need to win her round.

Thanks, It wasn't too bad, just dont land like i used too. I really didn't want to get back on, but if i hadn't he'd have done it over and over and I hate rearing. I hurt my back on a different horse yesterday, so I have recruited my sister to keep him going while it gets better. I'm so looking forward to being able to just tack up and ride him, he's a really quirky cob, and I mean that in a nice way. He stamps his feet when he doesn't get his own way. He has a real attitude, i laugh, it's just like dealing with a toddler!!! I wonder if putting him on the "bold" step would work!!!Haha!!
Well, thanks for the reply, I'll keep you posted. Hope backing your girl goes well!!
