Howdy all,
I know I posted about this before but quite a long time ago now. Thought I'd mention it for anyone having a spring clear out!
If anyone has spare snaffle type bits, between 4 - 5", please think of donating them for horses abroad. Friends of Marwari run regular donation trips to India where they hand out sterilised snaffles to owners to replace locally-made ones which can be harsh and cut the horses' mouths. The scheme focuses around education so that the owners understand the difference the bits can make and so are more likely to keep using them with their horse. They ask for smaller sized bits as Marwari horses typically have small mouths.
I know some people will prefer to sell spare bits or maybe would rather they went somewhere else, but I just thought I'd let people know it's an option. There are several collection points across the UK.

I support this particular charity as a lady I know through work (I sell riding holidays) is very involved in the scheme and so I have a lot of confidence in it.
Of course there are also several other charities which ask for donated bits too and who I'm sure would be really grateful to take any old or unused bits off your hands.
Thanks for reading! Hope you're all keeping warm.
