Got the back man out yesterday

And my mare was out pretty much all over! She was only put back in place 3 months ago. She is a 14 year, 16.3hh anglo arab who I have had on loan since March. She came without any muscle and topline but this has been developing. However do you think she will be needing the backman every few months just to put everything right? Her owner says I have to have certain farrier who costs £95 every six weeks added to the £50 for the backman every 3 months she is adding up to an expensive horse!

Could be worth having him out every few months, She might be ok though after a while see how she goes, Horses ey who would have them

Its always something to pay for. Ive got my farrier out on wednesday horse is due for worming, Should be interesting trying to stick a wormer in a 18hh horses mouth

Worth it if it makes a significant difference to her. OH's horse was treated by an osteo (recommended by Patches) & he has been so much improved, it was amazing. Once you have had a few treatments & you improve the mare's muscles from schooling etc you may find she doesn't need such regular visits.
Our osteo is also good in that she doesn't charge if there is nothing to do!
