Scans and xrays yesterday - the ned had ligament damage between the back of saddle and his croup on his left side. Symptoms were bucking and napping.

We need to follow a 6 month rehab programme, where riding is gradually introduced from week 8. Hes on danilon for 6 months and must have physio (not sure of the frequency and exactly what yet) and shockwave therapy from week 6 if needed).

Has anyone experience ligament damage in theie neddy and / or used shockwave therapy? How did it go and did horsy return to full work?

Out of interest, did your horse move differently when walking down hill (say a steep slope) sorry straying from your question a bit but wondered if you noticed anything.

My lad is having shockwave treatment at the moment for suspensory damage in his hinds. Four treatments in total every 7-10 days. The machinery looks huge but the actual bit that touches the horse is small and a bit like a scanner. The vet described the feeling it gives it to me as like having elastic bands pinged at your skin (ouch

). Ludo doesn't like a lot, but with a fair amount of sedation, the vet can administer the treatment. I understand that it aggrivates the damaged area which in turn promotes healthy healing. Someone else might be able to describe its healing properties better than I can.
