Anyone tried? I found this one that looks like it could be attached to a headcollar https://tractive-gps-shop.com/catalog/product/view/id/1

For some reason my mare is coming in every morning really tired. I had to slap her hard on the belly yesterday when she fell asleep tied up and almost lost her footing. I have a feeling that since I've muzzled her in the day time she's eating all night and not sleeping!

Plus it would be interesting to see how far fatty actually travels with her grazing.

Not see these before. Could be very interesting!

I'd love to attach one to my delinquent cat and see what she gets up to during the night.

Yes, I have done exactly what you are after, with our pony and our cats.

I used this https://www.g-paws.com/products/gpaws-track

I attached it to a clip on our pony's rug and it also fits onto a cats collar. It doesn't give real time tracking, it records then you download the data to a PC.

Its excellent, I was really surprised how far our pony walked. When the paddock was sectioned off, he had just over one acre to move around freely in, and in 3 hours he walked a mile and had a top speed of 5mph! So over a night he was probably walking 3 or 4 miles.

When the data is downloaded the website gives you distance travelled , top speed and a map overlayed with the route he took. Our pony definitely prefers one side of his paddock than the other!

This is an example of the type of route image it gives you...

This is the size of the tracker unit (not our cat!)...

I've done it too (he'd only had it on briefly in this screenshot, hence he's not moved much). Mine's a super cheap one from Amazon, but it works well enough.

My watch had GPS so I probably should attach it to one for the night. GPS is only accurate to a few metres, as you will know if you have ever tracked a schooling session with it. Apparently we left the school several times!
