GPS or tracking app

Does anyone use a GPS or tracking app, which is best? We ride on estate land (by permission) but a lot of the tracks are not marked on maps. Want to be able to pin point where the trailer is parked and be able to find my way back if we get sidetracked, without having to carry paper maps!

I use mapmyfitness, which seems pretty accurate. I ride offroad on forestry, farm & downland so all tracks rather than roads & this copes fine

The OS map app is very excellent, it will show basic contours and woodland in the free version. If you pay (£24.99 per year) it also shows the full Os explorer map with roads, tracks, bridleways etc

I use viewranger and like it a lot. You just download the bits of map you need so not expensive either. Life saver when you haven't a clue where you are (very good for working out how to get back from hunting!)
